Pictorial Guide Book of Duluth Minnesota color publication from 1949

This is a very nice, little-used Pictorial Guide Book of Duluth Minnesota published in 1949 by Zenith Interstate News Co. of Duluth. The 6-¾ x 4-¾ inch, 28-page softcover publication has a few pages of text about the early history of Duluth and the Minnesota Arrowhead country, American Indian legends, French explorers and fur traders, the vast mineral wealth of the area, its harbor and shipyards, climate, winter and summer sport possibilities and more.

The color views show Skyline Drive, the Lift Bridge and Ship Canal, the Docks on Lake Superior, the Lighthouse, the New Civic Center, Grain Elevators, Arrowhead Bridge, Enger Memorial Tower, a Replica of Leif Erickson’s Boat, Lester River and Falls, the Municipal Zoo, etc.
