These are my Corner (90*) Chisels
The Corner or 90-degree chisel is used for cutting design work in flat bar for work such as hinges, backing plates, and many other day-to-day hand-forging operations. It can also be used in combination with the flat and round blade chisels for various stock ornamentation.
I make my Corner chisels from new, 5/8-inch round, 5160 high-carbon steel, and each on is hardened and tempered. They are about 9-inches long. As with any forging chisel or punch, place the chisel on your stock, hit once, remove the chisel, inspect your cut, put the chisel back in the cut, and strike again. This helps keep your cut lined up where you want it, and keeps your chisel cool so you don\'t ruin its temper.They are lightly coated with linseed oil to blacken and help prevent rust.If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will answer them to the best of my ability as promptly as possible.
