Feb 24,1866, Winchendon, Massachusetts, C.C. Parker general store, $500 order: $35.00
Dated February 24, 1866, an order for stock from C.C. Parker, proprietor of a general store in Winchendon, Massachusetts. The document reads, in part and as accurately as we can transcribe it, \"Mr. S Poole Gentlemen Enclosed I hand you $500. Five Hundred. Please send me 3 Boxes good Bunch Raisins{3 Large drums good Figs if you can at 14(cents) or less I should prefer to have about 8 or 10 lb drums} 1 Box S. & P. Extra Fine 1/2lb Mustard Yours [?] C. C. Parker\". Our research indicates that C. C. Parker was the owner of a general store located in the Tucker Rice Block, just above the railroad station in Winchendon. A prelimnary search for S. Poole has not returned any results, but we believe he was probably a wholesale merchant. The handwritten document measures 4 7/8\" x 7 1/2\", approximately. The paper is in very good, lightly handled, original condition. Please review the preceding condition description box and photo gallery. The piece will be shipped well protected in a reinforced mailer. We combine shipping.
