This is a most fantastic American Indian War spear. Most likely from the North-West Indians as the steel spearhead is one that the Hudson Bay Fur Company and Northwest Fur Company traded to the Indian of that region.
Spear came to me from Tex Mulnite of Windsorville, Connecticut. He got the spear out of the summers Indian museum many years ago and trade for some landscaping work at the museum.
Spear is 6’9” long steel for trade spearhead is 9 inches long. Has dull red trading Post yarn that was once very bright red. Also, most interesting is a white ermine skin that had religious meaning to most American Indians and was used in most war bonnets.
Also has an Elk skin grip.
Bottom of the speak shaft has 36 brass tacks. Bottom may have been harden at one time.
Such a speak has never been seen on and only rarely at top grade sales!
Magnificent Indian relic that would be the center piece of any Indian relic collection or museum.
