We are offering a cast iron Match Safe Holder in the shape of a Frog. Made by Albion Iron Works, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Late 1870s/1880s.(3 1/4\" at widest part x 4 1/4\") Imprinted on the frog\'s body is \"A. I. Wks. Co. Stoves & Ranges\". Also, imprinted on the underside is \"ALB [ION] IRON WORKS CO., LTD., VICTORIA, B.C.\" The last few letters of \"Albion\" appear to have not imprinted well when the metal was stamped. When a person purchased a wood-burning stove from them, the company provided a match holder that would be placed on top of the stove.
