Autograph letter signed: \"Fred Leighton\" in black ink. 2p, 4½x3½. Kensington, no date. In part: \"Dear Sir, I would be glad if you would send as soon as possible my own selected prints of \"in the Fountain\" - I wish to show the prints\". British artist Frederick Leighton (1830-1896), the President of the Royal Academy for almost two decades, was a classical painter known for the meticulous detail in his paintings, including his massive work, Cimabue\'s Celebrated Madonna is Carried in Procession through the Streets of Florence, which was 17 feet long - and purchased by Queen Victoria. Also an excellent portraitist, Leighton was the first artist to be ennobled. Lightly toned. Light ink smudges throughout. Corners slightly rounded. Shipping - We ship via FedEx and USPS. Shipping charges for multiple orders are combined whenever possible. Due to the value of the items we sell, orders over $200 will require a signature for delivery. Please contact us in advance if this is an issue. For high-value items, this policy may also limit our ability to ship to a PO Box. All international shipments (destinations outside the U.S) will be sent via FedEx.
