FM Fathy Mahmoud Fine Porcelain Beige & Gold Egyptian Hieroglyphics Mug ~ NWOBDescription: First of all, FM released this same concept in at least two other color schemes. 1] Green band w/ Egyptian scenes, and 2] Black & gold w/ Egyptian scenes and people. This offering is on a classic white background which fades to beige. There are cobalt blue accents with generous amounts of 24 karat gold trim throughout. The graphics include two profiles of an Egyptian Pharaoh, maps, and six identical hieroglyphic panels encircling the top.The outer surface of the handle is beige with a pair of gold pinstripes.Capacity: 8 fl ozInteresting fact: Fathy Mahmoud, known for his expertise as well as his multiple lauded works of art around Egypt, took it upon himself to provide \'art for millions\', by way of porcelain. He expanded to the city of Alexandria and founded the Egyptian German Porcelain Company (EGPC).
Condition: Owned, but never used. This is an estate find from a cup / mug collection displayed behind glass doors. There is a small patch of what appears to be a rough spot in the glaze on the inside bottom. That said, there are NO chips, cracks, crazing, fleabites, fractures, scratches, scuffs, stains, discoloration or any other cosmetic / structural issues. Even the kiln foot which is the first indication of prolonged display / use remains factory fresh. The black square bottomstamp is crisp, legible and certifies: \"[Logo {crown} FM ~ Fine Porcelain Tableware ~ Fathy Mahmoud]\".
