WWII 1940: ELITE UBER RARE Arméns jägarskola, JS M39 SwedishArmy Ranger Greatcoat AND BARRACKS CAP LOT OF 2 ITEMS: GREATCOAT & CAP.

This was a Battalion Sized Unit- Active in various forms from 1910 to1975.

The condition of this ISSUED 1940manufactured M39 Royal Swedish Infantry greatcoat truly IS Pristine- The coatis tight and firm in ALL- no loose buttons, no (ZERO!) moth damage, no tears,pockets & lining all pristinecondition. The greatcoat does not smell of mothballs, or musty- it smellslike an old favorite wool sweater.

The Bronze Shoulder boards on the M39 greatcoat Regimental/Unit “JS”denotes the Arméns jägarskola, JS- The ELITE of the Swedish Army/Infantry/Ski Rangers-

The BRONZE shoulder boards & Infantry insignia of dual crossed Matchlock Muskets are FABULOUS.

The barracks cap was located in the greatcoats right pocket- this is alsoPristine Condition- there should be an enameled Swedish National Roundel Pin onthe front center of the cap- there is not- nor found in pockets- this can bereplaced with an Original/Vintage Roundel for about $20.00 U.S.

Interesting Fact: While Sweden was “officially neutral” in WWII, theSwedes had a Large “volunteer group” fighting alongside the Finns in the WinterWar of 1939/1940 against the invading USSR.

And again- in 1941 with the Nazi German Invasion of the USSR- The FinnishMilitary, joined in re-taking Finnish Territory taken by the Soviets during TheWinter War- once again Swedish Volunteers fought side by side with the Finn’s

The 4-ink pressed stripes seen inside of this greatcoat indicate thatthis Swedish soldiers rank was a “Menig” –or, a Private First Class- the Swedes then had four levels ofMenig/Private.
