Brief Info: align=\"left\">As the first all-metal transport in the world, the F-13 was a milestone of modern civil aviation. It was developed by Professor Hugo Junkers, a pioneer of technological progrees in many areas, and featured a corrugated aluminium skin. The transport its fitted with a 188PS BMW IIIa engine.
On the 13.9.1919 it reached an altitude of 6,75 metres, thereby establishing a new world record.Engineers had achieved their goal to finally dispense with cloth and plywood for the wings and fuselage. Outside tension cables for strengthening and stabilizing were no longer required for this cantilever all metal construction. Corrugated duraluminium proved an ideal material for the body. In 1919, Hugo Junkers together with his chief engineer Otto Reuter made a significant break through : the F-13 \"annelise\" carrying 8 people flew at 22.000ft(6.750m) above sea-level, setting a new world altitude record.
Established aircraft constructors such as Focke Wulf and Dornier also recognized the turn of the times and started building their aircraft in the revolutionary all metal construction concept in the 20\'s and 30\'s.
Never before in aviation history, had so many innovative ideas been realized in such a short time, such as sea-planes or ski-planes. purchasing, pay instantly through !<FONT face=Verdana><IMG title=\"Pay me securely with any major credit card through !\" height=33 alt=\"Pay me securely with any major credit card through !\" width=88 align=middle><FONT face=Verdana><IMG alt=Visa border=0> <IMG alt=MasterCard border=0> <IMG alt=Discover border=0> <IMG alt=\"American Express\" border=0> <IMG alt=eCheck align=\"center\">
