Extraordinarily Rare Original Medieval European Love Plate Brass Museum Quality! Dryad depiction. Tree people connected with vines and leaves. Dryads are tree nymphs or spirits that originated in Greek mythology. In this case the dryads shown are hybrids between trees and humans. This was probably a marriage plate. Male and female dryad are on either side of shield with owners initials of "GK." Probably English or Germanic in origin. To our knowledge, this is a unique piece. Pieces like this are not even found in museums. Size is diameter= 11 inches. Weight 14 ounces. Highly detailed. A perfect museum piece for any serious collection.
