Vintage Madeira Richelieu Embroidery Ecru Tablecloth 62x96 + 12 Napkins MonogrammedHere is an EXTRAORDINARY Vintage Likely Madeira, Heavy Linen, light Ecru Tablecloth, made completely in Richelieu Embroidery, 62" X 96"with twelve matching 18" square, scalloped, monogrammed, "FGG" napkins with a corner done in the matching embroidery.
This is an estate find, it looked to be unused but was well age tanned. I soaked, laundered and pressed the set, it is a light Ecru color. The darker photos are more accurate for the true color. The lighting made some look more white, I use them so you can see the beautiful cutwork. The center oval medallion measures 68" wide x 38" high.
The theme of the pattern looks to be floral with footed urns at the corners with flowers and cherries or grapes spilling out. The craftsmanship on this is SUPERIOR. The needle lace open work and connecting bars as well as the closed blanket stitching on the edges of each piece of cloth are absolutely perfect.
Condition
This set looked to be unused when I found it. It had age tanning so it was gently soaked, laundered and pressed on my mangle. I see no signs of use in the way of stains, tears, or damage. There is one stitch where I believe the thread was knotted off that is a bit bushy, otherwise, I would say this is in like new condition. Smoke free home.
