Exquisite VERY Large Vintage Portugal Nativity Camel Figure - GLASS EYES:

This listing is for a very large vintage nativity camel, beautifully hand painted, made in Portugal. It stands about 12.5” tall, and is about 17” long, perfect for a replacement piece for a church setting, where there is a large nativity set on display. It appears to be made from some hard fired substance, unknown what. Because of the way that it is painted, it is my belief that it would blend in with a nativity set where the figures were made of chalkware, plaster, composition, or papier-mâché. This is a quality piece, and has glass eyes, with a nice gold cord “rope”around its neck. It is relatively heavy.
There are some small paint chips on this piece, which you can see clearly in the photos. In my opinion, they are not that noticeable. Aside from that, it is in excellent condition.
