An exceptionalcollection of 10 real photo postcardsand 1 period photo depictingpeople and places around the town of Polk, Ashland County, Ohio. A really amazing collection as the scenesand people are nearlyall identified, including an image of the downtownwith its old windmill and many homes and places associatedwith Hartsel family. The Hartsel\'s are fairly well know as one of them became an earlynoted baseball player, see below. Anyway, very cool. Condition looks pretty good overall, some soiling as with most used cards, please examine the photos. He was born in Polk, Ohio, and played for the Louisville Colonels (1898–99), Cincinnati Reds (1900), Chicago Orphans (1901) and the Philadelphia Athletics (1902–11), with whom he won the World Series in 1910. On September 10, 1901, he established the record for putouts by a left fielder in a nine-inning game, with 11 against the Brooklyn Superbas.Hartsel died in Toledo, Ohio, on October 14, 1944.
