The Eurytides butterfly, commonly known as the Swordtail, is a striking species belonging to the Papilionidae family. These butterflies are primarily found in Central and South America, inhabiting lush rainforests and wooded areas. Their distinguishing feature is the elongated, sword-like extension of their hindwings, which lends them their name.
The male Eurytides butterfly exhibits a vivid colouration pattern, with predominantly black wings adorned with vibrant stripes and spots. Their wingspan typically ranges from 100 to 120 millimetres. Females are larger and have a similar wing pattern, though their colours may be more subdued.
