This piece is a stout Bulldog possessed of a muscular and rustic character, and true to the shape-chart archetype. The sharply angled stem of deep black vulcanite enhances the reach of the shank, making for a consistently tapering, aerodynamic pairing that nicely balances the presence of the bowl. Two of the four ridges that frame the shank and stem continue through the stummel and into the bowl, lifting at the flanks and curling down toward the heel below the bead lines that delineate the dual taper of the bowl's walls, adding further to the muscularity of the piece. The pipe is finished in Ashton's Sovereign smooth finish, revealing a wealth of handsome grain across the stummel.
