Today I am offering this classic vintage Emma Bridgewater polka-dot ceramic sugar bowl with matching lid. I am guessing the age to be mid to late 1990s.
The off-white/cream glazed bowl and lid have hand-decorated, multi-colored, water-color paint style polkadots.
The lid features an arabesque type burgundy top finial handle. There is a smooth curved slot on the side rim that allows for a spoon to rest inside.
The bottom section bowl measures approximately 2¾ inches high, and about 3⅞ inches across the top opening. When the lid is on the total height is approximately 4¼" high.
According to the Emma Bridgewater's website, this 100% English earthenware pot and lid are dishwasher safe. Liquid detergent is recommended to maintain appearance.
The piece is hallmarked on the underside with 🌱 Emma Bridgewater, Made in England, Decorated by Hand.
Both the bowl and lid are in excellent pre-owned, vintage condition. There are no cracks, chips, or crazing. Super clean with no stains or utensil scratches.
