Here is a vintage clamshell style Compact Mirror circa the 1960's. It is marked, Elgin American, Made in USA. The top design is floral with scrolls in gold and rose gold tones. The compact is empty. It is 3.75 inches in diameter. We believe it is gold plated over brass. There is a clear coat on the top that appears partially rubbed off around the edges. The center area was designed blank for a name to be engraved, this is still blank.

Original vintage patina. Did not try to polish it. Some residue powder inside at the seams. The mirror has some discoloration all around the edge. The bottom has 2 obvious dents as pointed out in the photos. Near these dents there was some sticker residue that was easily cleaned off.
