The Providence Cutlery Co. was started in 1916 by Dominick and Anthony Paolantonio. The business was in Providence R.I. By 1925 they had sold the company to Nicholas Amoroso. They are known for making shell handled knives.

In 1926 three of the Paolantonio brothers, Dominick, Antonio (Anthony?) and Fortunato, started the Colonial Knife Company in Providence, R.I.
