This is a CLASSIC Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a very displayable Olenellus gilberti from the Pyramid Shale of California. This specimen was found YEARS ago and recently acquired from an OLD collection. The striking bug is complete except for the left side of the head - even the long telson (tailspine) is easily seen. The detail of the trilobite is very nice, and the bug is well inflated and 3-D, especially for an olenellid. And the aesthetic RED color of the trilobite is quite beautiful and fully natural. This is a very displayable Lower Cambrian Olenellus trilobite that has been in a collection for YEARS!
