This listing is for an extremely rare all original, excellent quality, multi signed Emeralite \"double-double knuckle\" lamp. It is a Model 8734 AC Two Light, circa 1916 – 1930. There are no repairs or replaced parts. I have included a picture of the lamp in one of the original Emeralite catalogs (not included).

Collectors call this model a \"double double knuckle\" because there are two shades, and each shade sits in an armature that can be adjusted in two places....one behind the shades at the tops of the columns and once at the bottom of each column. As a result, the lamp can be positioned in a variety of arrangements......everything from the back of the shades almost touching when the arms are up to the arms being completely horizontal. As a result, this lamp can be used on a flat top desk, a roll top desk, on two roll top desks that are back-to-back and a partners lamp desk. Theoretically, the number of position combinations for the columns and the shades are unlimited. Most of the pictures show the lamp with the shades in an upright position, but I’ve also included a few pictures of how the lamp could be used on top of a partners desk, etc. Of course, you can just use the lamp on a regular flat top desk and get twice the light of a standard single-shaded lamp.

The shades have no chips or cracks on any exposed areas…they\'re really in fantastic condition. They are guaranteed to be original Emeralite shades, circa 1916 – 1930 and NOT a reproductions.

The base is dent free and has a very nice original satin brass patina with just a few minor ages spots on the back. The sockets are original, as are the socket sleeves, and the pull chains works fine. The base is properly signed on metal plaques affixed to the front of each shade holder. The cast iron weighted underplate is signed EMERALITE 8734. The base has been rewired with brown cloth-covered electrical cord, which mimics the original electrical wire in appearance. So, it’s ready to be plugged in and enjoyed immediately…….no need to have to rewire the lamp, as is often the case with lamps sold on . The wire is 10\' long....if you want it cut down to the usual 6\' that most lamps have, please let me know, and I\'ll be happy to do that for you.

This is an outstanding example of an extremely rare and all original, vintage Emeralite lamp that would look elegant in any home or office. Please remember that most of the value of any lamp with a glass shade is in the shade, not the base. in this case there are two shades, so that makes it twice as valuable as a single-shaded lamp. In addition, the base is so rare, that also increases the lamp\'s value. So, if you’re looking for a really unusual Emeralite lamp in excellent condition, then this is certainly one to consider. This lamp is right as rain, UNLIKE so many other Emeralite lamps on with undisclosed defects, repairs or replaced parts.
