ANTIQUE HT SWISS THREE (3) TUNE AIRS CYLINDER MUSIC BOX.CIRCA 1800\'SBeautiful Antique \"HT Switzerland\" Three Tune (Airs) Music Box! The music box measures about 5\" wide x 3.75\" deep and stands about 2.75\" tall.The case is engraved and crossbanded with floral decorative design.All original and untouched patina to the wood.The lid opens to reveal a paper label 3 AIRS by H.T. and handwritten 3 descriptions of music.The mechanism is mounted with 3 screws at the bottom in the center. At the bottom one finds the winding mechanism.It designed to play 3 melodies as written on the original melody sheet.
The music box is fairly heavy for its size weighing nearly 2 pounds (before packing) and very fragile (requiring special packing) which is reflected in the shipping cost!
There are some fine age cracks to the wood around the border of the lid and some scuffs/scrapes/bumps/bruises etc. to the cabinet associated with normal use over many years.It is signed on the melody sheet on the inside of the lid. It was made in Switzerland.
Because of the general condition of this piece, it is unique, all damages and signs of use indicate a past with great care and dedication. It is over 100 years old, so there are some flaws befitting the age of this object.The key doesn\'t turn. Needs repair.
