It belongs to the rhinoceros beetle family and is renowned for its impressive size, with males reaching lengths of up to 2.5 to 4 inches. Their robust, horn-like projections on the head and thorax give them a distinctive appearance. These beetles are primarily black, with a glossy exoskeleton and occasional hints of brown or green. They inhabit wooded areas, where they feed on decaying organic matter. Despite their formidable appearance, they are not aggressive and play a vital role in ecosystem nutrient cycling.
