Fabulous antique / vintage French Toile de Jouy fabric dating from the early 1900\'s.

This print named \"The Chasse au cerf et au sanglier\" ( Deer and wild boar hunt) was designed and first printed between 1775 -1780. Wonderful imagery of French country life. Many different scenes featuring men on horses with dogs hunting deer and wild boar.

I have seen this print in red but it is rare to find it in black! Lovely crisp light wight woven cotton. The ground on this has a quite aged tea stained color tone. You can soak with oxygen or the like to whiten if you choose, I have done so very successfully with other pieces of the same.

Condition: Very good! Stitch lines with some treads on left edge, also about one inch on left edge is whiter where it was sewn under another piece of fabric. See last photo. Overall excellent for age and use!
