This is a wonderful Papier Mache Dias de los Muertos Automata Skeleton who moves to strike the Donkey Piñata. There are 2 knobs on either side that you can twist to make the skeleton move the bat to strike the piñata. As with all papier mache pieces, it is delicate, so you need to move the knobs with care.... This fanciful piece was made by Josue Eleazar Castro from San Miguel de Allende and is signed on the face of the smaller knob. There is a long tradition in Mexico of papier mache folk art. This piece would make agreat gift for the Day of the Dead Collectoror a wonderful addition to your own folk art Collection.I have several other pieces by this artist and will be adding them shortly.
