This is in Good Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Fleabites NOTE: this has some iridescence and staining. Very nice Antique Medicine Bottle by DR SBH & Co. This bottle held a drug called Peruna which was recommended for many ailments in the late 1800\'s including cough, weakness and stomach problems. This bottle is blown in a molding with tapered lips, with the seam going up and over the lips.
Peruna was a well-known patent medicine sold from the late-19th to mid-20th century. It was patented by Samuel Brubaker Hartman and endorsed by hundreds of politicians. Hartman began selling the product on July 29, 1885, and advertised it as curing catarrh. At its peak, Hartman was earning $100,000 a day from Peruna sales. The drug was reportedly so popular that babies were named after it, as was the mascot of Southern Methodist University. Peruna once released an ad with fifty United States Congressmen endorsing the product.
This measures 9 1/4\" High x 1 1/8\" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Bottle.
