A superbly detailed, museum quality gouache of the revolutionary Dornier DO x.* Painted by Ewe Feist** in 1980, it is matted and framed under glass with an overall size of approximately 41” long by 28.75” tall and a sight size of 31.5” x 18.75”. The painting is in pristine condition and to seller's knowledge is one of a kind.

*This plane was produced in Germany c.1932.It was the largest heavier-than-air aircraft of its time and by flying to many world capitals, demonstrated the potential of an international passenger air service. The product of 240,000 man hours, on its stops in many cities it was often greeted and cheered by hundreds of thousands. I.M.H.O it should be more famous than Lindberg’s earlier efforts. But alas, too often those that fail are forgotten in favor of blind nationalism or mere sensationalism. Case in point: “Titanic” sank while much better steamships of that era stayed afloat. Few of my contemporaries remember the French Line’s “France”, whose assets vis-a-vis “Titanic’s” may be debated, however there is little argument over which served better food.
