This official Navy document was found in the hidden compartment of a donated item at a thrift store.
What I like most about it is you get to use your imagination while thinking about what may have happened to the sailor.
I read up on the history of the USS Hartford and it said that in 1901, the boatcruised to Scotland, Sweden, Norway, and Belgium.
I bet the sailor met a Swedish girl and fell in love!
