Maker: This tall and graceful porcelain figurine of an angel with a mandolin is by the incomparable Spanish ceramics firm Lladro.
Design and age: It\'s called \"Angel with Mandolin\" and has the number 1324. Sculpted by Salvador Furió, it was issued in 1976 and retired in 1985.
It\'s part of a series of figurines, which also includes \"Angel with Tambourine\" [1320], \"Angel with Lyre\" [1321], \"Angel Recital\" [1322] and \"Angel with Accordion\" [1323].
This sale includes only the figurine \"Angel with Mandolin\".
Size: It\'s about 12 1/2 inches tall, about 5 inches wide at its widest point and 3 inches wide at the base. It weighs 2 pounds 5 ounces.
Condition report: There are no marks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, repairs, crazing or wear. There is a shallow chip on the edge of the skirt - it\'s shown in the photo with the red arrow and penny - and a small white spot on the underside of the mandolin that appears to have been created in the manufacturing process. The mandolin\'s bow is missing. Although the right thumb does not appear to be damaged, there is a lump of glue on it so there is probably a tiny bit of damage under that lump. It\'s shown in the photos.
Despite these flaws, this figurine remains very beautiful and would make a lovely addition to any collection of Lladró or other fine porcelain.
