Hi everyone, my name is Hal Jordan. You probably know me better as the fictional character the “Green Lantern”. The reason why I am here today is because I have something very exciting I would like to discuss with you. It is so exciting, in fact, that you just might have to sit down and hold onto your chair so you do not fall out of it. With that being said, I would now like to introduce to you one of the most amazing bicycles ever created by the famous Schwinn Bicycle Company in Chicago Illinois. The amazing 1974 Schwinn Stingray bicycle.

I love this bicycle so much, in fact, that I decided to improve upon it. I wanted it to be better than it was before. Better, stronger, and much much faster. I knew the only way for me to do that was I had to think outside the box. I did so much daydreaming and brainstorming that it started give me a headache. I must admit, I came up with dozens, if not hundreds, of different ideas and scenarios with things I want to do to my cherish 1974 Schwinn Stingray bicycle, but I could never come up with that one specific idea that would stand out and take it over the top. I wanted that one idea that would literally blow the competition right out of the water.

But after several months of went by, I came to the conclusion that I could not come up with a specific solution that would suit my needs. I was at a loss and I felt I needed some divine intervention somehow to help me get through this. What I decided to do was take my awesome bicycle with me to the distant world of Oa and have the eternal guardians there share their divine wisdom with me.

Planet Oa, the oldest of all worlds, located at the furthest regions of the Milky Way, in sector 0000, is where the eternal guardians reside. I knew they would be able to give me the encouragement and wisdom I needed to help me transform this most amazing bicycle into one of the greatest bicycles ever created by the minds of men.

After getting my affairs in order here on earth, I decided the time was right for me to act on what I want to do with my bicycle. I could not hold out any longer. I had to do it now.

So without further ado, I grabbed the handlebars to my 1973 Schwinn bicycle and wheeled it outside of my house and placed it in the middle of my backyard. This is where my journey would soon begin.

I knew time was of the essence. I knew if I didn’t act at that moment, I probably wouldn’t have done it at all. That is when I clinched my left hand into a tight fist and placed my green ring next to the lens on the green lantern, anticipating a superhero change would soon come over me. Soddenly, in a twinkling of an eye, all the clothes on my body changed into the radiant green lantern suit. My cool aviator sunglasses also changed into a green mask covering the areas around my eyes. Every muscle and every sinew in my body were now in full display inside my tight green lantern suit. It felt as if a second skin of invincibility was attached to my body.

I then sat down on the banana seat to my bicycle and I pointed my ring upward and then bam, a beam of intense green light shot forth from my ring into the sky. Within seconds a green translucent static bubble developed around my body, as well as the bicycle, and we were lifted up and whisked away from the gravity of the Earth, going faster than a bolt of lightning streaking across the midnight sky.

It was at that point of time my body and bicycle zipped through the vastness of space going faster than all the laws of physics put together. This journey had me traveling through several worm holes and black holes and I zipped past countless stars going faster than it would take a little boy to tie shoes.

From the time I left my home on earth, to the moment of time I reached the center of the galaxy, I finally arrived to the outstretched borders of sector 0000. I knew from my past journeys to this sector, I was not far away from planet Oa.

Once I arrived at the ancient world of Oa, a half dozen of my fellow Green Lantern super heroes from other sectors of the galaxy were there to greet me. After a brief but friendly chat with these super heroes, I was then quickly ushered in through the glorious gates of Castle Rimnah. It was there I would be debriefed by the Guardians of the Universe. These Guardians, a super race of immortal beings, who have been on Planet Oa since the beginning of time, were wise above all other intelligent beings in the universe. They were omnipotent in every way they fit and some would even say they were the start of the gods of the universe.

It was there I communicated my deepest wants and desires to these ancient guardians, as well as to my other fellow lanterns, who happened to be stationed on Oa at that time. They were all excited after hearing my proposal and they all agreed they would help me create a super upgrade to my bicycle in the way I envisioned it to be. I mean, why wouldn’t they? Why wouldn’t the lanterns and the omnipotent Guardians help me in this time of need? I figured it was the least they could do for me since I am the one who rose to the occasion and save them all, including the World of Oa, from assured destruction from the evil clutches of Parallax.

It was then we used the power of our rings and we all flew over to the vast temple of the guardians were all their sacred rituals and sacrifices took place.

Once we were all inside the ancient temple, Guardian Ganthet used his telepathic powers and carefully placed my cherished bicycle upon the sacrificial altar. He then turned around and hovered back into the crowd with my fellow Lanterns and the other 10 Guardians of the Universe. The guardians assured me my bicycle would not be sacrificed for their namesake, but would instead be consecrated with great power and endowed with everlasting beauty which would be beyond imagination.

Moments later, the ceiling to the sacrificial chamber opened up above our heads and a mystical green light beamed down onto my bicycle from the heavens above Oa. Seconds later, flames of green light surrounded my bicycle with such intensity that majestic sparks with thunderous fury exploded everywhere from the altar and great tremors and quakes shook the world of Oa to its very core. I knew something stupendous and great was now happening to my bicycle because of this unforeseen phenomenon happening, but I just did not know what the extent of it would be at that time.

With the help of the Eternal Guardians working together as one with the other Green Lanterns, they all, including me, pointed our green rings at my bicycle and the brightness of the green light became so great and so intense that I had to close my eyes and turn my head away. The radiance of the bright light felt as if I was standing next to an open furnace inside a smelting refinery.

Then, without warning, the powerful green light that was beaming down from the heavens above, as well as the green light coming from the Guardians and my fellow Green Lanterns, suddenly stopped and all that stood there on top of the alter was a a radiating and and glowing green object with a vast blackness in the background. It had the appearance of a glowing phantom, very similar to the apparition of Parallax before I destroyed him.

Once the object had a chance to cool down, it didn’t take long before I could finally see my amazing 1974 Schwinn Stingray bicycle standing there. It was transformed and molded into one of the greatest mechanical marvels of our lifetime. The one and only! The great and powerful! The Mighty Majestic Schwinn 5 speed Green Lantern Stingray Krate bicycle with a fabulous rear and front drum brake system. Wow!

As you already know, I enjoy flying around the universe wearing my skin tight green lantern spandex bodysuit, but sometimes I like to take it easy and ride around the innumerable star systems on my newly created 1974 Schwinn five-speed Stingray Krate Green Lantern bicycle. One of my favorite spots I love visiting and riding this awesome bicycle on is the rings of Saturn. It is an amazing thrill to say the least.

As you can plainly see in the pictures, this bicycle really is a one of a kind bicycle. It is so unique in so many ways and you will never, I repeat, never find another bicycle like this one on this planet or any other planet that is drifting along the eternities of the cosmos. The wisdom of the Guardians of the Universe went all out on this one.

Please zoom in with your smart phone or computer and look closely at the pictures I have provided here. I mean, really look close at the beauty and depth of this bicycle. You will see this bicycle really is a superior work of art. When the talented engineers of Schwinn came up with the Krate concept, they were literally years ahead of their time. First came the Orange and Apple Krate bicycles in 1968. When many of the young boys in the USA saw for the first time these Krate bicycles being displayed in the windows of their local Schwinn dealerships, their mouths Salivated with envy and they begged and even cried to the parents to get one of these bicycles for them. I should know because I was one of those envious kids back then.

Let’s talk about the frame now. It is an original Schwinn Stingray frame. The ID number on the frame is FKxxxxxx. That means it was the frame made in June 1974 at the now-defunct Schwinn Bicycle Company in Chicago Illinois. That means it officially is 50 years old. But look at the pictures again. Does this bicycle look 50 years old? Absolutely unequivocally not. The power of the green light from the World of Oa has made this bicycle look like it is brand new.

Now take another gander at the phenomenal powder coating job on this bicycle. It is powder coated with an awesome chameleon green, which covers the full spectrum of green light that Oa generates from its inner core. It gleams nicely in the sunlight and it is very nice if I do say so myself.

The springer and fork assembly are from an original early 90s Schwinn Krate bicycle. The chrome is in great shape considering it’s age and it’s numerous travel throughout the universe. You will find very little rust on this baby and it gleams nicely in the sunlight, too.

The front wheel, along with its 4.5 inch drum brake hub, is in great condition. It works just like it did when it was was brand new.

The front Schwinn tire is an original 1974 dated tire and it is in good condition. There is very little cracking going on this tire. You will have many years of use with this tire.

Now let’s move over to the 20 inch rear wheel. As you can see it is very nice with shiny chrome and aluminum all around it. The 5 speed freewheel and the drum brake assembly work just like they did when they were brand new. The power of the green light from planet Oa has created this most incredible wheel and now it can be yours.

The rear 20 x 2.125 tire is new and in good condition. The Guardians of Oa have gone to great lengths in preserving this tire in the condition it currently is in.

The two brake cables and the shifter cable are new and fully functional. It will give you many years of use and they look fantastic with this bike. The metallic green housing on each of them give an extra pizzazz to an already amazing bicycle.

The rear fender is new and in great shape. The chrome shines up just fine and Danny on it and it’s guaranteed to attract lots of attention from other people and countless aliens from outer space.

Let’s move on to the sissy bar now. The sissy bar, along with his bouncy shock absorbers, is used. It is just as good as the original sissy bar.

The chain guard is an original early 70s chain guard. It has been powder coated the same sparkly green color as the frame and a new Schwinn Green Lantern decal has been applied.

And then there is the sparkly green vinyl banana seat. It is a older reproduction and boy does it ever go perfect with the color theme of this bicycle. It sparkles just like diamond dust being scattered in the sunlight.

Now turn your attention to the rear reflector on this bicycle. Do you something different about this one? It is green not red! How many Schwinn Krate bicycles have you seen lately that have a green reflector on it? Not many I’m sure. The awesome 3.25 diameter reflector was made specifically for this vintage bicycle. it was crafted from the fiery green light that is only found on Planet Oa. These types of reflectors are very hard to come by nowadays and there is a good chance you will never see another one quite like this one again.

The pedals are the original early 70s pedals with reflectors and they are in great shape. They are Schwinn approved pedals of course and they were made by the renowned bicycle craftsman in Germany. Not by the namby-pamby tinker toy manufacturers you find in places like Taiwan, Japan, or China, but in Germany! Most of the metal on them shines up good and the plastic pedal pads look nice. They are not banged up and rusty like you see in a lot of the older bicycles. The Guardians of the Universe took great care in preserving them for this bicycle.

The pedal crank is in decent shape. It has very little surface rust on it, but it does show its age somewhat.

The five speed sprocket is original. As you can see it is in great condition. There is no rust or gouge is on it and the chrome signs up just fine and dandy.

The handlebars have the 73-year stamped on it. It is in good shape, but it does have the typical road rash in the obvious areas where the original boy owner laid the bike down on the road or sidewalk so he can go play with his friends. Still it looks good for its age.

The gooseneck stem is in great shape. There’s very little rust and corrosion on it and the chrome shines up just fine and dandy on it.

The sparkly green handlebar grips are original and in good condition. There’s very little wear and tear on them and they still grow nicely in the sunlight. The power of the green light has taken good care of them as well.

The handlebar brake levers are original for that time area and they are in great condition. They are covered up with two original sparkly green Schwinn brake lever covers. Very nice!

What do you think of the sparkly green and white streamers dangling down from the hand grips? I truly believe a classic Schwinn Krate or Stingray bicycle is not officially a Krate or Stingray bicycle unless it has a set of colorful streamers dangling down from the hand grips. These streamers are original and they were made by none other than Schwinn. They are semi-soft to the touch and will blow freely in the wind. They are another adaptation that was created by the powerful green light of Oa.

The rear Schwinn 5 speed derailleur is original. It was thoroughly cleaned and lubricated for this sale. It does have some minor scuff marks on it’s chrome casing, but not very much. It functions on this bicycle like it should. The power from the green Lattern will make this derailleur outperform any other derailleur made from all the other worlds in the cosmos.

The chain on this bicycle is new and fully functional. It glides through the five gears on the freewheel and the pedal sprocket just fine and dandy.

The kickstand is NOS and in good condition. The chrome looks fabulous as the pictures show.

As you can plainly to see here, folks, this bicycle is more complete and more equipped than most other Krate bicycles being sold here on . If you’re looking for a bicycle that stands out more than the rest of them, then look no further than what you see here. This bicycle is a newly developed concept of mine and I feel a lot of people will take positive notice to the new changes I have done to it.

This bicycle will make a excellent gift for yourself, your son, your grandson, your nephew or any other boy you have great admiration for. Give him the gift he will love and cherish for many years to come. He will, most definitely, be the envy of every kid on his block.

Because most of this bicycle is now 51 years old, is being sold as is. There will be no warranty or guarantee given or implied with the cell what you see is what you get. Selling for $4795 obo.

Please note: Much this bicycle will be disassembled for shipping purposes, so assembly will be required by the new owner. Because of this, the brake lines and the five speed derailleur line will need to fine adjustments done to them to make sure they function correctly when it is re-assembled.

The shipping, the handling, and the processing charge is set at $195. This charge includes the purchase of the bicycle box, the bubble wrap, the protective stuffing, the packaging tape, the labor and, of course, the shipping charges. Insurance is also included with the price.
