- Beautiful! This lovely valance / ruffle is French, dating c 1890~ 100% hand stitched ~ this lovely ruffle has faded gently with time, and the ground tone is a gorgeous , faded true red and the printing is pale pink ~ The bottom of this valance has the addition of a hand stitched gathered ruffle that runs along the bottom. The top is trimmed with a tape . This textile would have hung from a corona above a bed . One side is selvage and the other is finished with a hand stitched hem. This textile is ideal for any timeworn interior. It has faded with time and there are many many tiny tiny holes, visible when held to the light, so it has been worn gently with time. There are some tiny rust spots also. It\'s still quite a strong textile, just tiny holes visible , so ideal for backing or hanging however if hanging from a window, would require backing ~ ~*~ ~*~ ( Valance 60)
MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures : 68 inches wide at the top, and at the bottom when laid flat, measures 107 inches wide. The drop is 16 inches ~
