Funding requested by the Lighthouse Board in 1890Congress appropriated $50,000 for the project on March 3, 1891, but it would be 4 years before construction would begin.The lense is a fourth-order Fresnel and was first shown from the tower on February 29, 1896It is currently maintained by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department as a part of Bullard Beach State Park.Condition notes:Please watch video. The rotating light does make some noise, especially when it is first turned on and if it hasn't run in a while. No chips or cracks noted. There are some areas where the paint may have worn, but it could also be the painting technique. Please see photos. The black handrail on the front shows excess glue so has probably been re-attached at some point. This does not include original packaging, but I will double box and pack very carefully. It is in good pre-owned condition, but is not like new. There will be superficial scratches and perhaps other small signs that it is pre-owned.
