Awarded - colonel-tankman Biima Ivan Spiridonovich (rus. - Бийма Иван Спиридонович) - battalion commander of the 66th Guards Tank Brigade of the Red Army. Colonel Biima was awarded the order "Hero of the Soviet Union" for bravery in street fights in Berlin.

The battalion of colonel Biima from April 21 to May 2, 1945 fought in street fights in Berlin in the direction of the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. In these fierce fights the battalion of colonel Biima destroyed 9 tanks, 11 armored personnel carriers, 27 guns and captured 152 Wehrmacht soldiers.

After the end of the Second World War, colonel Biima continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1946, he graduated from the academic advanced training courses for officers at the Military Academy of Armored and Mechanized Troops, in 1955 - the central armored advanced training courses for officers. In the 1940-50s, colonel Biima, as a military adviser to the Soviet Union, helped in the construction of the tank forces of communist Germany.
