Ihave been studying, documenting, repairing and collecting all Collinsand equivalent contractor military “R-3XX/URR” Receivers andassociated equipment for over 45 years. This small (spoiler alert -only 25 pages) but informative guide contains information not foundelsewhere and never before published. I was in a unique position toresearch public-restricted contract data archives as a former US DODRF Design Engineer at a major US Naval Depot facility many years ago.

Wewill never have a similar wealth of collector information like thatavailable for R-390/R-390A receivers, especially the marvelous suiteof original R-390A redesign contract documentation now available.This booklet will, however, shed a bit more light on our obscure butmighty airborne friend – the R-648!
