Upfor sale is the following autographed item that has been matted with anunsigned in-uniform 5x7 inch photograph:

BIO: Colonel Donald Blakeslee (Deceased) RARE WWII Ace Pilot 15.5 Victories he flew more combat missions against the Luftwaffe than any other American fighter pilot. Recipient of 2 Distinguished Service Crosses (2nd highest military decoration), 2 Silver Stars (3rd highest military decoration). Flew first with the RAF Eagle Squadron No. 133 flying Spitfire later transferred to the United States 355th Squadron of the 4th Fighter Group flying the P-51 Mustang. During the raid against Dieppe, France on August 18, 1942, Blakeslee shot down a further FW-190. Recipient of the following military decorations 2 Distinguished Service Cross, 2 Silver Stars, Legion of Merit, 7 Distinguished Flying Cross and 6 Air Medals.

Donald J. M. Blakeslee (ASN: 0-885264), United States Army Air Forces, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving as Pilot of a P-51 Fighter Airplane in the 4th Fighter Group, EIGHTH Air Force, in aerial combat against enemy forces on 7 January 1944, in the European Theater of Operations. On this date Colonel Blakeslee shot down one enemy airplane. Colonel Blakeslee\'s unquestionable valor in aerial combat is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 8th Air Force, and the United States Army Air Forces.

Colonel Blakeslee\'s unquestionable valor in aerial combat is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 8th Air Force, and the United States Army Air Forces.
