Here is an absolutely beautiful delicate example of an early wheel engraved German half-post method of production spirits or possible cologne bottle. You won\'t find a nicer example that\'s full of character.
Clear colorless glass with slight greyish tone, early flint or leaded glass for sure.
Rectangular form and is about 7 inches tall, 3-3/4 inches across the front, about 2-1/2 inches in depth, nice solid glass rod pontil scar on the base.
Absolutely ZERO damage, would be impossible to improve upon for condition and clarity of design and glass !!!
This type of early bottle was producedby theGerman Half Post method, circa 1780\'s to 1800.
Beautiful intricate wheel cut floral designs on all 4 sides, look like probably thistles, stems, roses, and the like, one looks a bit like a Venus-fly-trap maybe.
Very few, if any bubbles in the glass as its of such delicate high quality.
A beautiful piece of early glass blowing artistry.
Overall clean with with normal wear from age and use. A good amount of bottom base wear, just showing its age and use of this bottle !
