Description:

Theitem up for offers is a vintage souvenir bracelet from the 1936 GreatLakes Exposition held in beautiful Cleveland, Ohio. The braceletfeatures the fair logo showing the Great Lakes highlighted with whiteenameling. The bracelet chain has square links with a great art decodesign and a simple folded clasp. It is made from brass with a goldtone finish. It’s a sweet piece of World\'s Fair memorabilia, havesome fun and offer!

Heldin the summers of 1936 and 1937, the Great Lakes Exposition wassprawled over 135 acres of land near Cleveland\'s lakefront from W.3rd St. to E. 20th St.

Organizedto celebrate the centennial year of the incorporation of the city ofCleveland, the Great Lakes Exposition sought to highlight \"thematerial, social and cultural progress which has been achieved in theGreat Lakes Region in the past 100 years\" and to \"indicatethe paths of progress for the future.\"

TheExposition featured hundreds of attractions, including rides,sideshows, botanical gardens, cafes, and more. In 1937, the Expoadded an aquacade with water ballet shows featuring celebritiesJohnny Weissmuller and Eleanor Holm.

Someof the Cleveland/Northeast Ohio industries represented at the Expoincluded the White Motor Company, the Standard Oil Company, FirestoneTire & Rubber Company, Sherwin Williams, not to mentionappearances by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.\'s ever-popularblimp.

Dimensions:

Itis a bit on the smaller side at about 7-1/4” overall length. Thecenter diamond shaped piece is about 1-1/4” long by 5/8”.

Condition:

Itis in good vintage condition. It shows age appropriate storage andhandling wear with scuffs, scratches, and dings. The gold tonesurface shows wear with areas of rubbing loss. The white enamelinglooks good and is largely intact with good gloss. The clasp isfunctional. The pictures are the best indicator as to condition,please use the zoom feature and check them out.
