Extremelyhard-to-find early heavy cardboard container for Red Gravel from the Bird FoodCompany, 400 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia. Box measures 6” x 3” x2” and is unopened and still full of the original gravel. The front panel featurescolorful images of four different birds. The back panel includes extensiveinformation on “The Proper Care of Canaries” while the two side panels includeinformation on other bird products available from the Bird Food Company. Thebox is in quite good condition considering its age and construction – the surfacesshow storage wear and light soiling with a bit of crushing at corners at topedge in back. The container still has its original round tin lid in place andfeels as though it is still full of the original gravel (quite heavy). A raresurvivor offered with to the highest buyer.
