Up for your consideration is this Cincinnati Home Guard Badge c1917.  Hallmarked JOS.J.SAYRE & SON CIN.O.  The badge measures approximately 2 3/16th by 2 inches.  Shows very light wear and in very nice condition.  The picture and written document are NOT included in this sale and are for reference only.  History; On May 10, 1917, the City of Cincinnati passed a resolution authorized the the raising of a HOME GUARD as an auxillery police force to be used in emergencies during World War 1.  The Home Guard was authoried to raise up to 5000 volunteers, in the end about 2750 men were appointed.  Please see the document for additional information.
