The Raku process includes............\"Firing the hand-formed vessel in an outdoor kiln to 2000°F. Molten hot, it is placed in a pit with banana leaves and coconut husks that burst into flames. The combination of earth, fire and intense heat create the magical flashes of color only raku firing makes possible.\"
