Cover by Harvey Eisenberg. Art by Harvey Eisenberg. Edgar Bergen\'s ventriloquist\'s dummy, Charlie McCarthy, was a bona fide celebrity in the mid-20th century, star of movies, radio and this comic. Mortimer Snerd gets a job at the circus working with the elephants, but that\'s not as much fun as it sounds. Bessie, Mortimer\'s cow, gets a chance to be a hero. In a Western tale, Judge Rawson runs the town, and when Charlie and Mortimer get in his way, he sends outlaw Coyote Kane after them.
