Originally released on VHS only, & converted to DVD almost 10 years later in 2007, there are a huge variety of diesels in the west from early Baldwins & Alcos, to today’s emd units.

Here’s the segments that appear in order:

2. a GP7 & a pair of former Rock Island GP18s 1790 (narrator mistakenly called the unit 1970 on one scene) & 1795 on the Central California Traction with still images

3. Yolo Shortline on the former Sacramento Northern with GP9s 131, & former SP 132 with a still image of 0-6-0 1226 during a mention of 1233

4. Modesto & Empire Terminal with 600 & 604 (referred to a Southern 2-8-0 in Spencer NC)

5. Ventura County

6. Southwest Portland Cement Quarry

7. Trona with Rare Baldwin AS-616s

8. A rare 1951 Baldwin S12 on the Amador Central with an S8 & an SW1200, plus SP & D&RGW that ended in late March of 1997

9. Medco with a Baldwin S8

10. Angelina & Neches River with 2-6-0 number 3, an SW1500, a 1958 Alco S4 with a cab ride from Jerry Simms showing the controls, & a GP38-2 with an interview from Marc Reeves & Gary Looney, Railroad president David Perkins, & Bob Harvard

There is also a speed-up segment of containers being loaded, as well as films in 1944 on Red River Lumber Company with a 2-8-0, the Siskiyou Line in 1969 with Semaphore Signals, Alco S1 number 41 on the CCT in 1969 with a cab ride & Caboose 23, 1954 clips of the SN, Western Pacific in 1969 on the SN, Stockton Terminal & Eastern Alco S2 500 somewhere from 1980 to 1983, Weysmeyser Company, & Amador Central in the early 70s.
