SPECIESCharaxes NandinaFAMILYNymphalidae1st RECORDEDRothschild & Jordan 1901QUANTITY & SEX1 x Male DESCRIPTIONThis striking eye catching butterfly has purple coloured dashes throughout all of the wings but mainly on the hind-wings and a lighter shade of purple dashes on the fore-wings, but depending on which way you look at the butterfly it looks like a metallic blue very pretty. The underside has a mixture of green and brown colour throughout all of the wings .the fore-wings have two small circles with a rusty yellow colour and a purple bit with a black spot in the middle of each circle on both hind-wings ,also a few white spots on the hind-wings then black and purple lines on both hind-wings the fore-wings have a faded reflection of the hind-wings. Beautiful specimen for your collection. endemic to Kenya. Colour and markings may vary as with most insects. Seldom offered.
