Dave Sim wrote Cerebus, which began as a lighthearted parody of Conan the Barbarian, but which became an exploration of religion, politics, literature, romance, commercialism, the comics industry itself, greed, desire, and so much more.At the end of the \"Mothers and Daughters\" arc, it went off the rails, and close to the end Sim went on an extended narrative rant comparing women to vampires, feeding off men\'s natural superiority and earning potential. I hesitated to sell these, because the story becomes completely unhinged. But there\'s no denying that Sim pushed the use of the medium to the limits of what it was then capable of; and the overall storyline was paced in an incredibly interesting and brave way. In some cases, entire issues are devoted to seconds of action; other issues are almost half-text, as Sim writes convoluted and baroque essays.All issues read once, and then boarded and bagged, and protected from light/UV for decades.These comics were deeply important to me for decades. I hope they will find an appreciative home.
