The provenance: this photo was given to my best friend who happened to be good friends with Jeremiah Newton. Jeremiah was best friends with Candy Darling and Jeremiah received many of her things upon Candy’s passing. This photo was in the trunks of Candy’s belongings her mother gave to Jeremiah. This photo was owned by Candy herself.

Jeremiah kept some things for himself, most went to the Andy Warhol museum (my friend was with him during the meeting and exchange with the Warhol Museum at Jeremiah’s home in update NY).

Jeremiah gave my best friend several of Candys things. Upon my best friends passing I received all of these things. I have all of Candy’s things in a box. I’ve sold some, I’d much rather see these items in a home of a great fan and someone who adored her.

This Jack Mitchell photo was one of Candy’s favorite photos of herself. I sold the comp card of this shoot a few years ago. Candy had a few copies of this print in her personal belongings, she used this particular image to autograph for her fans. Along with the photo is a lock of Candy’s hair. Her hair was very important to her and she always maintained its perfect platinum bleached shade.

My friend who obtained these items from Jeremiah Newton had the photo and hair lock professionally matted and framed.
