Ca. 1870s-80s Sealed Bottle North Carolina Pine Tar - James Good:

Sealed intact bottle; complete label reads in part"TWO OZ. / NORTH CAROLINA / PURE / PINE TAR./JAMES GOOD." Very nice condition overall; remarkably, tar has not dried out and will still "flow" if bottle is rotated. Has a small piece missing from the upper neck, causing a tiny chip out of top of lip (see last two photos).
Bottle doesn't indicate age or seller's location. However, online I found a photo of a four-ounce tin container of this exact same product with a label reading "JAMES GOOD, Inc.," "Philadelphia," and "ESTABLISHED 1868." The bottle appears to date relatively early to ca. 1870's-80s.
Research on Ancestry shoes that this James Good was born in Ireland in 183o, and after emigrating to the U.S., spent the rest of his life in Philadelphia.Please inspect photos carefully for condition.
