Hawthorn, 4th Regiment SC Volunteer, Columbia, So. Ca\". Receipt docketing on back May 13th, 1861. Thomas S. Powell enlisted on 2/1/1861 as a Private and mustered in Company G, 4th SC Infantry Regiment. James G. Hawthorne (1834-1904) enlisted on 2/1/1861 commissioned as a Captain into Company G, 4th SC Infantry Regiment. The 4th SC moved to Virginia in June 1861 and participated in the 1st Battle of Manassas and the Very clean cover, VF, flap tear. Winner adds $5 to US addresses. Thank you.
