A Sterling Silver and Brilliant Cut Glass Powder Jar
Strawberry Fan cut glass with Nouveau-styled lid!

An evening garden in Sterling silver is paired with a gorgeous, dazzling American Brilliant cut glass base in this early 20th c. vanity jar! Featuring vining clematis flowers, leaves, and tendrils, this dreamy piece has a place on any dresser! With an Art Nouveau theme, this piece possesses a timeless elegance!

Neither the lid nor the base are signed. The lid tests for Sterling silver. The Strawberry Fan/Diamond pattern is a common motif in American Brilliant Cut Glass of the late 19th and early 20th Century. Given the styling, this piece was likely from the late 1910s or early 1920s. The piece is monogramed \"D\" in cursive on the top of the lid.

Condition:

This jar is in EXCELLENT condition! The piece has some light surface wear expected from its over hundred year existance, including a few minor nicks to the cut glass pattern and some dings in the Sterling silver lid. None of which greatly detracts from the beauty of the piece, and is otherwise an outstanding example of American Nouveau design.
