Quite beautiful work on this lovely silk nightdress case with a hand painted lady in period dress sitting in a landscaped garden.A wonderful hand painted design,with detailed workmanship. The lady seemstearful, tired?..a touching romantic figure who seems to have dropped a vase. It has the artist\'s signature on the bottom of the painting.Measuring approx.18”by almost 14”flat, opening up to approx.26”.The pale creamy pink color is quite luminous, the inside is quilted and has rolled piping all around the nightdress case. This pretty nightdress case seems unused. In very good condition, a few small spots, totally minor.This type of item was used to keep lingerie, or good laces ,handkerchiefs etc.
