50 years of jet aircraft in the Belgian Air Force signed by three Belgian Air Force Chiefs of Staff JS(CC)58e cover produced to commemorate fifty years of jet fighters serving with the Belgian Air Force. The Belgian Air Force was formed from the RAF Nos 349 & 350 Squadrons which operated during World War II. The cover artwork by Tony Theobald depicts some of the jet fighters that have served with the Belgian Air Force including the Hawker Hunter F6 , Gloster Meteor T7 , Republic F-84F Thunderstreak , Lockheed F-104 Starfighter and Dassault-Breguet Mirage 5. The cover bears Belgiam 50c 50 Years of OTAN/NATO stamp and is cancelled with 50 Years of Belgian Jet aircraft Bruxelles 1000 postmark dated 27.3.99 showing Meteor and F-16 jet aircraft. The cover has been hand signed by three Belgian Air Force Chiefs: Major General Aviateur A Henry 1.4.60 - 19.12.63 Lieutenant General Aviateur A Debeche 1.1.72 - 1.7.77 Lieutenant General Aviateur M Desmet 1.7.77 - 1.4.83 All 3 officers were members of the RAF 1940-5.
