1922 cabinet photo of the interior of a butcher shop with lots of hanging meat. No photographer backmark. Fabulous occupational image! One of the better butcher shop images I\'ve seen. Although the location is not specifically known, there is a calendar on the wall at the far right from Brecht out of St. Louis, Missouri. I did a high res scan of the calendar and could see that the month is October in 1922. The year cannot be read but the 1st fell on a Sunday only during the year 1922 that decade.

G. V. Brecht was established in 1853 by Gustavus von Brecht. From the beginning, his products were primarily aimed at butchering. By the late 19th century the company name was Gus V. Brecht Butchers Supply Co. By 1920 the business name had changed to Brecht Co., with the business being operated by Gus v. Brecht\'s sons.
